Are you using Mastodon through a computer?

Do you wish there was a multi-column TweetDeck-style interface?

There is! It's called the "advanced web interface" and you can activate it any time you want. It lets you add many specialised columns, subscribe to hashtags and all kinds of stuff suited to large wide displays.

Log into the website, go to Preferences > Enable Advanced Web Interface, tick the box and click "Save Changes".

(To restore the default single column interface, do the same thing but untick the box instead.)

This used to be the default interface on Mastodon, and very old articles about the platform will have screenshots of the multicolumn interface.

Indeed and love it. Took some time to get used to, but liking it this way.

Just needed to add a couple more tabs (preferred hashtags to follow) to fill my screen (didn't like the gaps LOL) and hey presto. Happy days LOL

@feditips Game changer for me - thanks so very much. Currently the only things on my mastodon wish list is being able to see replies on others feeds on my laptop and having a hover function for follow/unfollow similar to the birdsite but that certainly isnt a necessity.

@feditips How do you get these extra columns? I only have four columns, and anything new I open goes in the fourth column replacing what was there. #feditips #interface
