darius -- that's not an issue at all.

here's the docs for what was the standard api for connecting to blogs, called the metaweblog api.

if we had something like this to connect to activity pub, so that we didn't have to open the box and get involved with webfinger and actors etc, then we'd have something.

i'm not saying you or anyone else has to do anything, but somehow that layer has to be created, and made deployable.

@davew @bix ah I see! I have actually built something similar here for my own use *on top of* my Express server that was linked earlier.

With this service running, I can make a new post with a dead simple HTTP POST with an API key. In a sense this is what the Mastodon API layer does too.
