We will soon mark 25 years of the #GoodFridayAgreement, which ended the 30 years of bloody conflicts in Northern Ireland.
The Windsor Framework is a new chapter in EU-UK relations that will preserve peace by avoiding a hard border on the island, while also protecting the integrity of the EU’s Single Market.
Together, we will keep working for reconciliation in Northern Ireland for the next 25 years and far beyond.
@EU_Commission Hi. This is incorrect. Ireland wasn’t in conflict with Northern Ireland. I think you need to revisit this wording and inform yourself of the primary sources of violence in Northern Ireland and wider afield.

@EU_Commission An appalling misstatement. Ireland was never in conflict with NI.
Instead, there was civil conflict in NI between ethnically British descendants of colonial settlers and native Irish people who, after the imposition of partition on the island under threat of "immediate and terrible war", endured decades of discrimination and oppression.
