@feditips I'd like to add: you can change the post visibility (aka post privacy) of your replies, too.

And this can sometimes be problematic. I once read a reply and answered it, thinking everything was public. Because it is shown below your post.

But it was a direct message, only visible to me.

@feditips I thought the @ “only people I mention” meant that it would show up in their feed and others would have to open the comments to see it. I don’t seem to have the unlisted option on my mastodon iphone app. I thought I knew what I was doing and now I’m really confused. 😵‍💫

When checked, only posts in selected languages will be displayed in public timelines" pick English? :thinking:

@feditips and be sure to set a default language as that helps with filtering as well as translation.

@feditips I wish that there was a way to make replies (or even better the second or later reply in the same thread) default to unlisted while everything else defaulted to public.
