@davew @bix ah I see! I have actually built something similar here for my own use *on top of* my Express server that was linked earlier.

With this service running, I can make a new post with a dead simple HTTP POST with an API key. In a sense this is what the Mastodon API layer does too.

@davew @bix Also there is the "Client to Server" aspect of the ActivityPub spec, which might be along the lines of what you are interested in. It is basically not implemented by ANYONE, but the idea was to make the API surface of every ActivityPub server for *clients* the same for things like logging in, making posts, following, etc
