@misc they have been mostly heavily discouraged from existing here because they also, as a pattern, rehost content with and "ask first and take it down later" consent model. People on fediverse generally don't take kindly to that kind of thing, and it is seen basically as a scraper. I will likely port my Spooler tool to fediverse at some point, since it's just about rendering stuff to read and doesn't store any content.

@darius Hmm. I’ve heard that but wonder if people feel the same way about them for private use, basically an instapaper/pocket model, which is how I use them. Basically I’m in skim mode when I browse the timeline, it doesn’t really work for me to slow down for a thread, so I like to save threads. Not sure if your Spooler tool supports read-later usage?
