@EU_Commission @Philsturgeon this one’s for you. Or maybe not. Maybe the rest of us could add up to match you.

@EU_Commission you shld set ye counter a bit higher as starting point ;) any garden quickly gets 3 a 5 trees planted, a hedge is 20 a 50 at least ;)

@EU_Commission Everywhere in EU, big companies are razing hectares of perfectly fine woodland — a common heritage for all of us — be it for burning, for building large factories for their own profit or for building roads we don’t need.

It doesn’t matter if private persons, with spend their limited resources for planting, 1, 5, or 500 trees — on the scale of for-profit razing, it makes *zero* difference. If you truly believe what you write, stop this by EU-wide policy, NOW!

@EU_Commission I have and apple, a pear and a Japanse cherry tree here. I am up for debate whether or not my Lilac is a tree, and the Buddleja globosa is technically a shrub, but it's now well over 5 meters high and the 2nd largest plant in the garden. Also I have planted an apple tree in my mum's garden, and grew two giant redwoods from seed that, to the best of my knowledge, have been planted in woodland gardens

Incredibish

@EU_Commission I guess the number of trees I've either planted by hand, grown from seed for someone else to plant, or paid to have planted must be in the high hundreds, and in cooperation with others in the thousands. It's never enough.

@EU_Commission yes: everywhere I’ve lived, with one exception, we planted at least one tree. So that’s…at least 24 trees on 3 continents. One of the best parts is planting trees with children, then going back years later, and the tree is big! Beautiful! Like the child! If you have a child, or are an auntie or uncle or friend, plant trees together. Take a photo of the child near the new tree(s); then plan to return in two decades. #trees #planttrees #EarthFriendly

@EU_Commission I have planted ten fruit trees from various sources. This year, I am trying to grow sweet chestnut, hazel and walnut from seed. I am also trying to germinate some pippin apples. When I weeded a raspberry bed, I found lots of oak saplings and 'guerilla planted' them in vacant land nearby.

@EU_Commission the low number of respondends says it all. You wanted to reach 330 Million but only 850 replied.
55% of those planted 3 or more, but they can easily be all professionals.
