New year, new milestones!

2024 is bringing us many interesting anniversaries of EU history:

🏞️ 50 years since the launch of the European Regional Development Fund
🗳️ 45 years since the first European elections
💼 30 years since the European Economic Area entered into force
🤝 30 years since the first constituent meeting of the Committee of the Regions
📜 15 years since the entry into force of the Treaty of Lisbon

...And many more historic EU milestones, so stay tuned!

...and still not enough transparency in Council, Commission and Parliament decisions to meet democratic requirements!
As long as the EU is governed more by lobby groups than by the citizens of the EU, it will continue to have a legitimacy problem!
After all these "anniversaries", one would expect democratic standards to rise.
Unfortunately, there is less and less of it to be seen!
