Just trying this out, I am guessing this is a bug on slow mode?

If the number of new items is small enough it doesn't do the automatic scrolling. It only happens if the items are a large enough number, so it sounds like it's not deliberate.

@feditips @xuan Also, if you don't scroll to the top when you have new items pending, just a little below (in order to still see the "X new items" clickable item), it doesn't scroll to the top when you click on it. I believe. Sometimes it does? Maybe it depends on the number as you said... It is annoying anyway.

I've just tried the disable swiping motions option again and it doesn't help for me, the automatic scrolling still happens :/

It looks like, whatever options you have, the automatic scrolling is inconsistent.
