Since I joined in April I’ve started putting image descriptions (alt text) on all the art I post.

I now enjoy the process, and sometimes even add extra details regarding how I really feel about what I posted, or even a critique on the quality of my work.

I would encourage anybody new to the .art instance to add image descriptions to their own art too… it is seen as good practice and such posts are definitely more likely to get boosted.

@GrumpyMark The character limit on the text descriptions is FAR greater than the limit in actual posts. It's almost like you can write an entire short story in there!

I can't even tell you how much information and subtext I get when I hover over an image and the text description pops up and I'm like, "Oh! That's what the illustrator was going after! I get it!" They're incredibly useful!
