@bovaz What you are referring to sounds similar to Nomadic Identity, the challenge with a singular identity is balancing that in a federated fashion

You want a "Login with Facebook" but that doesn't really work in a decentralized world, unless you centralize around a singular identity provider

@dansup yes and no. What I was hoping to find when I started using mastodon (and a little bit of other fediverse things) was to have an "account" I could move around and attach "things" to. Makes perfect sense that a masto client can't properly work as a lemmy client. But I wish I could have some signatures "in" my account to access things around. Authentication would be a mess to say the least, I know.
