The flare in the top left corner doesn't make this image any easier to process! 🙂

Truly astonishing. One has to wonder how they evolved to embark on such a long flight (and back!) every year.

Nature is full of incredible feats of strength and endurance.

Even though it *was* my daughter that initially sparked my interest in astrophotography, that solution does seem a little drastic.

Patience does seem to be high on the list of requirements for taking photos of the night sky!

Perhaps the Martians discarded it because the instructions on the cover had worn off, so they had no idea that it could be played on that old Victrola down at the Jezero Beach Resort. 😃

AEGIS is probably tempted to have SuperCam zap the sample tube, just to see what happens! 🤣

Ha! I was working on the same image before checking here, then got called away... here's what I came up with.

Nice to see that the RTE camera seems to have regained some dynamic range! 🙂

Back before arrival in Jezero, who would have dared to predict that would be flying a useful scouting mission on its 41st flight, over a Martian year later? Truly impressive. 🚁 🚁 💪

Beyond merely standardizing which day is the start of the week, ISO ought to extend the regulation to include the content quality of that day! 🙂

@65dBnoise

Probably. And they seem to stay fixed in place, just appear and disappear kind of randomly. Perhaps depending on the angle that sunlight strikes them?

@65dBnoise

These videos work well to show the logic behind what might otherwise seem like random excursions.

I would love to know why some of those spots, that look like sensor dust, appear and disappear during flight. 🤓

Those spots are probably Martian bacteria that crawled inside and become active when the camera heater comes on! 😃

More good work! These videos must require significant effort, if only to locate and match up the Nav frames with the RTE images. Definitely worth the time, IMO, though.

Will these be somehow made available in a collection, someday?

The dancing spots seem to mostly move around just after takeoff and just before landing. I see less moving around during the flight. 🤔

Those bigger rocks look like they somehow landed on top of the dust-covered regolith and flat outcropping recently. But I suppose that "recently" on Mars could mean within the last billion years or so.

Still, they *look* like recent arrivals!

Percy is probably pondering whether it's worth zapping any of those rocks or regolith with the laser. ⚡ ⚡

Rather than just sitting watching at the sample depot, it would have been nice if had snapped a few photos of the event!

She does, after all, have a mobile phone heritage; she should be posting on Instagram! 🤣

Next big change: your AGI assistant will know intuitively that you are about to enter the room; it will turn on the light and adjust the colour balance to match your mood. 🙂

Go little Mars helicopter! 🚁 🚁

I wonder what the almost 2 week delay was caused by... 🤔

I guess there's not much chance that Ginny did a rotate left to grab a photo or two of , during the flight.
