@feditips these apps really need a link on either posts or profiles that says, "Add to List"

The leaps and hurdles in the stated List Howto are hilarious. Yes, it can be done, but ain't nobody got time for this 😏

One thing I have learned about alerts is they are ignored. I had a pub with a 10cm drop between rooms and no amount of visual cues stopped the carnage.

Plus there's so much, and we learn best in tasty bits. MailChimp has a feature where incremental tips are handed out on a schedule, or sometimes there's a counter on some action. What if first time in Search sends a guide with examples, or first click on a hashtag triggers a Search FAQ?

Please also advise nodes who expect subscribers fill out their About page so folks know who they are, what they stand for (or won't) and why they are different. So many just have the default.

@feditips when I hit the online hamburger menu with android chrome I get

My horoscope said not to wax nostalgic, but I couldn't help reminiscing about the ancient Usenet custom of weekly FAQ postings. Perhaps this might be something that could be built into the servers; they have their info page on the node home, but who ever goes there twice? Or perhaps start folks out subscribed to the node's welcome channel that would send a timed series; once up to speed, folks just unsub!

Let's keep in mind this is early days, and we've just seen a massive influx of folks just finding their feet. As time goes on, as I always say, Necessity is a Mother.

A general ethos in the FOSS world is, "If it doesn't work for you, fix it!" and I know that offends the many who expect 'product' that 'just works' and a place to gripe at when it doesn't, while knowing the Product World don't give a flying f— what you want 😅
