@dansup @damon @aral So maybe my search problems could be solved by a FireFox extension whitelisting sites in search. Not sure what the limit is but google allows several sites in search like:

site:stackoverflow.com OR site:discussions.apple.com SwiftUI tables columns

@dansup @damon @aral That being said I wonder seriously how much of my daily searches would be satisfied with just a few hundred websites indexed. Some years ago I’d search google and get my StackOverflow results. Now I get a thousand spammy clones first. I just want 2010 back😭

@dansup @damon @aral What I find interesting in the idea is that for each link you could tag the source user / instance so people could just filter them out. The biggest issue I see with today’s Google results being overrun with generated AI spam is that you can’t get a “source”, like one human who would stand for this content.

@Mediapart @jdbrgy Sincèrement divisé dans mon opinion. Autant je trouve triste que des communautés soient rejetées autant depuis notre déménagement au Brésil je vois la croissance des évangéliques comme un réel danger: sans ces pasteurs nous n’aurions jamais eu 4 ans de gouvernement d’extrême-droite et un coup d’état échoué lors la transition.

C’est peut être plus à voir dans le contexte de l’observatoire des sectes et de la radicalisation religieuse.

@dansup @pixelfed I think statistics are ok if you just make them opt-in and public. When you offer people to share their anonymous usage info you also link to some public site where everybody can see this.

@dansup @pixelfed Also shouldn’t we normalize manually accepting followers and make it the default ? Except for maybe some celebrities there is no sense in letting someone follow you unless you read a least a short description and a few public posts
