@darius It always takes me more time to figure out how to use it than it saves in processing time. But still worth it just for the joy of seeing parallel stuff happen, and the excitement of wondering if it will complete ok.

@dansup Pixelfed is great—photos always look great there. They don't have that munged, downscaled look my pictures get on Instagram or Facebook.

@workingclasshistory Odd that they never taught us this in school. [Note: sarcasm used here. In Texas of the 1980s they taught us next to nothing about slavery, and certainly nothing about uprisings or resistance. I didn't learn about the Nueces Massacre or the clear pro-slavery statements of the Texas Declaration of Causes until years later.]

@dansup @pixelfed It would be cool to feed this data into the interface while I am typing a hashtag to help me choose which of the several variations is the best one to choose. (And I realize that this might not be realistic given the wide array of hashtags out there.)

@dansup They might even have multiple algorithms you can choose from, or allow api access to provide your own algorithm, or join up with some sort of federated sites algorithm, or whatever. The key differences with current platforms should be 1) they will offer users options with transparency, and 2) algorithms will be to the user's benefit and not be built around the goal of offering users up to advertisers.
