@darius yeah fair enough… I’ve never been suspended or moderated a server so I don’t know what the process is like. Just going by the fact he said no explanation was given I thought he had no recourse to ask. I guess he could appeal it?
I dunno… I feel like the lesson for me here is that you can get banned for nothing and yet I doubt that’s what the moderators we’re doing. Just not sure this is the one I would hold up as saying it works well. *shrug* anyway glad it’s not *my* drama. 🙂

@darius interesting that it’s not even easily implemented … didn’t know that. I know there’s also the debate about if it encourages abuse… just a power user thing I miss. As for this feature I think it’s good. it feels like you're doing a “rules and filtering” approach like sieve at some level https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sieve_(mail_filtering_language)

@darius I would set up something like friend.camp (I already run a IRL community in Tokyo) but probably don't have the time commitment to dedicate to it. Really interested in how that has been for you. I also just want to get off the mastodon.social server to help it cope. Maybe I should just join dolphin.town :-D

@darius do you have to be following them to put them in the list? So once on the list their posts don’t show up in the main home feed? Sounds cool but not clear how it behaves. Can a user be in two exclusive lists?

@darius functionally-wise this is really cool. There’s something odd about a list affecting the Home feed though. Maybe I’m just to used to twitters idea that “timeline is all your follows” and “lists can contain non-follows”. That’s perhaps conceptually simpler. I’ll gh upvote this feature though

@darius Now the only list feature I miss from twitter is being able to have lists of non-followed people. I had people I wanted to read or keep track of, but didn’t want to personally ‘endorse’ in other people’s suggestions with a follow. I heard that this was sometimes a channel for abuse so it may never come to mastodon.
