@searls I can't get rid of the filling that iOS had a way to allow a certain contact a "critical alert" level, but I couldn't find it anymore in iOS17. E.g. PagerDuty adds a contact with bunch of phone numbers that can get through with the critical notifications, but I couldn't find anymore how to set it up ourselves.

@searls I see. I think you can do it in the opposite way:
- in any focus setup allow notifications from either a group (e.g. favorites) or specific contacts
- when no focus is enabled all notifications is allowed
Maybe that would work

@searls wondering what's the use case. A focus mode is the set of configurations enabled for that mode. If these settings are needed by default, wouldn't it make sense to enable them by default on the device?

@searls a nasty one. Wondering if iOS/macOS' text replacement can help workaround that: e.g. @mention -> @mention
