I love how unapologetic that #Qwant are for being French 🇫🇷 — so often on their website they have stuff which is only available in French and that is bad (from a marketing perspective) but also funny (because they are French and that just falls into the stereotype).
Like, on their homepage right now they have a message (in English) that you can win 10€ a week by using Qwant. And then the page is links to is 100% in French with no translations.

Decided I should install #Linux on my laptop and then failed.
Something like this:
1) Work out what distro of Linux I should install? Idk. Maybe @Solus? 🤷
2) Work out what the differences are between Budgie, GNOME, Plasma, or XKGB versions? Idk. Probably Budgie? 🤷
3) Download via torrent 😎
4) Spend 15 mins trying to work out what the app for making disk images is called. Etcher? Got it.
5) Realise I don't have a USB flash drive in the house. Or a blank DVD. Or an SD card reader.

Every family member I have uses Chrome on their mobile because “Google” and pretty much every family member has over 100 tabs open at any one time.
And that’s not because they want 99+ tabs open. It’s because they simply don’t close them / practice tab management.
Like, it’s a little frustrating that they all use Chrome, but even more frustrating that Chrome doesn’t have the option to “Close tabs after {days}” option.

And that’s not because they want 99+ tabs open. It’s because they simply don’t close them / practice tab management.
Like, it’s a little frustrating that they all use Chrome, but even more frustrating that Chrome doesn’t have the option to “Close tabs after {days}” option.

I like that it avoids speaking about servers and federation and just asks people to pick a username - something everyone can understand. 😎
Alternative servers are just a click away, and you get a little preview of what that server is about before you confirm your selection - so you can quickly switch again if it wasn't what you expected.
