@EU_Commission One wonders why all these sanctions weren't imposed immediately when Russia invaded other sovereign countries, like Georgia in 2008 or Ukraine in 2014, or as soon as it was found that Russian democratic elections were fraudulent, and why EU countries continue to trade with Russia as though there has been moral wiggling room in the last two decades.

@EU_Commission @EC_Commissioner_Breton I think the conclusion that can be drawn from their new moderation and public statements, even more obvious than before, is that Twitter should be written off as having any continued value as a social media platform.
Democratic institutions would do well to stop expecting people to tune into that megaphone of abuse for official updates. Official Mastodon instances or even RSS is a more conscionable chocie.

@FediFollows @vivaldibrowser Liked it for a while, but it's struggling more and more to just quickly load websites, which is what I use a browser for above all the other "lot of stuff built in".

@dansup They'd be subjected to the same treatment as any other instance. If they moderate properly, they don't get blocked.
I doubt they will, though, just as I doubt they'd just open up to the fediverse. Facbeook, like Twitter, relies on ads and outrage for profit. All they have going for them is the fact that people have connections there.
