@feditips Most mastodon servers seem to have the code to be a Progressive Web App (PWA) provided the server is https, so with Chrome and Edge you can 'install' it on your desktop/laptops to have a windowed, app-like experience.

@feditips nice is always a relative thing. your home server is certainly the most reliable (most of the time -ours had a UI caching issue for a bit, now resolved).

#Elk is one web app (PWA support, just like the main app) that is more twitter-like, including chronological threads.

#Sengi is a nice one if you need multiple logins in the same client and liked the tweetdeck layout.
