@Gargron @janl This tool searches your *entire* Home timeline.

@feditips I figured this out -- it's because the WordPress embed block adds `sandbox="allow-scripts"` to the `<iframe>` tag, but that attribute needs to be `sandbox="allow-scripts allow-same-origin"`

`allow-same-origin` is required to retrieve the CSS.

@feditips I think if you just paste a link to the post, it will grab the embed code from the oEmbed <link>?

@Gargron @Brendanjones @scottjenson Correct me if I’m wrong, but encrypted DMs would be a non-standard complement to ActivityPub, and therefore anything other than Mastodon that wanted to use DMs would need to adopt this non-standard Mastodon feature? The link I posted indicates that the w3c considers the issue settled and won’t add “true” DMs to the spec.

@Gargron @jeffjarvis I've been getting this lately too, I suspect it may be due to apps sending too many requests in an effort to do "live search". I don't get this issue when using the web UI.

@darius This may be true, but “petulantly acting victimized” isn’t against the server’s rules as far as I know.

You don’t have to be a n*zi to think you might say something that rubs somebody the wrong way. And the prospect of being banned from this new interesting platform you’re trying to earnestly adopt because you bug someone is a huge disincentive to give it any of your time or attention.

And for the success of Mastodon we should want people to want to be here.

@darius But most of what I'm seeing are not people lamenting the failure of a large general instance to protect Seth from suspension, but instead celebrating the responsible moderator's decision as valiantly opaque and vindictive.

@feditips It also ineptly misconstrues what rel=“me” means in the first place

@darius I get that, but I think that kind of approach is best suited for small, niche instances.

I think there needs to be space for large, general instances that have a well-defined set of rules, strictly enforced, where people can know they won't get suspended because somebody with the necessary permissions doesn't like them that day.

The people on that instance know they might encounter obnoxious people in their Local timeline, but that's what individual blocks are for.

Here's an extremely quick-and-dirty way to get this new Mastodon author OpenGraph meta tag on your site.

Note that this currently only works for pre-approved domains, so you won't see your little author icon chip just yet.

> Of course, it’s also part of Mastodon’s API, so we expect to see support among the vast array of third party apps for Mastodon as well.

This is very cool.

@Gargron Thanks — where is the documentation for this? I can’t find it on joinmastodon.org.
