Thanks for developing Mastodon

@Gargron "One model fits all" approach created some major issues on other social media sites. Considering that features like quote posts have been asked by many, including journalists, having the possibility to opt-out/opt-in will help others to configure Mastodon according to their needs.

@Gargron All is well that resolves well. Now I am able to see the images. I thought it was more related to the workload on servers with a new wave of users.

@Mastodon I had never imagined such a thing happening on the bird site, a couple of months ago. But all the events that happened during past few weeks points to the importance of decentralized platforms like Mastodon during the internet age. All the best to Mastodon and Fediverse.

@Gargron Great to see that Mastodon is going big, now approaching more than 7 million users.

@Gargron For some queries, I ask #ChatGPT for references to be completely sure of the results. I feel that this should be the default feature. But then large language models do not work that way.

@feditips Personally, I would suggest a random approach for showing a random Mastodon server. This will ensure that all servers (who wish to appear on the main page/app) get a fair share.

Also, not one server is overwhelmed by the sudden flow of traffic.

@Gargron It's clear that more and more users want to free their data from one single service provider and move to services where they can import and export their data. This news from Meta about using ActivityPub/Mastodon is a great sign for future interoperable services.

@dansup Explore highlighted photographs belonging to commonly used hashtags like nature, street art, etc. Something similar to the Mastodon explore.

@dansup Like the new proposed version. It misses the explore option (unless it's a deliberate decision).

@Gargron This is a surprise. I have been here for more than three years. I posted here three times more during the last three months than during the previous three years.
