@EUSPA Let me respectfully disagree with the idea that we need more commercial applications and game-changing commercial solutions (as summed up in the news item), with the idea to stimulate continuous economic growth in the EU. As António Guterres just expressed at #COP27, this is "highway to hell".
We have rather to collectively reflect about how we can use less ressources, less energy and less land, and reduce emissions and pollutions. Hence the name of the game is doing less, not more.

I’m happy to announce that our paper “Scenarios of future annual carbon footprints of astronomical research infrastructures” was published today by @NatureAstronomy.
In the paper we modelled the future evolution of the annual greenhouse gas emissions of astronomical facilities based on past trends for different scenarios. We demonstrated that without a #degrowth in the number of facilities astronomical research will not reach sustainability.

@EU_Commission Green growth is a hoax. It’s just growth that will continue to destroy the habitability of our planet, #Europe included.
