@Gargron I'm not quite sure what kind of work you have to do, but the key more often than not is delegation. Either to specific individuals or even closing a specific instance for new users and pointing to all the other instances.

@feditips I didn't know this exists so what I did already years ago is I created a list of people I really don't want to miss any posts from and added it as another timeline. This way I always see it easily and don't miss anything;

@feditips damn, you know, I tried to follow your advise and used /kbin but that federates with lemmy.ml

I saw someone posting a link to the "China tightens access to Tiananmen Square while 32 are detained in Hong Kong (npr.org)" article and suddenly TS massacre deniers craws out of the woods with @lemmy.ml usernames and telling people to perhaps use a different instance to post anti-china links because they don't want to be defederated by lemmygrad and even worse posting outright denial.

@feditips Oh wow, that is very sad. There should probably be an artificial cap on the size of the server if technically they can grow so much because someone is skilled in running it well on one server.
