@Gargron @taylorlorenz certainly things can still go viral to some extent with boost, but these are activists who rely on call-out culture, so to speak, to call attention to injustices, and I don't think they're totally wrong in sensing that Mastodon is less open to that than Twitter

@Gargron @taylorlorenz the underlying complaint seems to be that quote-tweets drive virality and even if they implemented quote tweets on their own server it would only drive virality within their own server, because most servers won't have quote tweets.
