In 2019 I bought an Intel 12" MacBook Air on the basis of weight. Then in 2020 I quit traveling and started doing lots of teleconferencing. It was the wrong machine for the time!

But I appreciate your emphasis on weight. My new M3 14" Pro weighs a ton in comparison, but the fan doesn't run.

Have you checked how greedy Mastodon's Advanced Web Interface is of CPU? Lately my laptop fan has been running a lot, and I seem to have isolated it to Mastodon (in Firefox on a Mac).
