@humanetech INFORMATION COLLECTION / ORGANIZING / LOST IN THE MASS
I agree about what you said and at the same time see this as a personal thing between a few specialists perhaps more than collective though sites and people that doesn't exist really help but after can just be duplication / not interesting for others.
I thought "why I would say this or even have mixed reasons" ans some are below (I don't know what I'm trying to say other than some points below)
- We (the individual) are best at doing that work you mention, though it takes heroic persistence (which I think you, I and a few others have dedicated our life to).
- Others are shit (not that good at the above) and therefore best left to the hero-cats that can (as we are also shit in other area or at least I speak for myself not perfect but I'm a marathon runner, don't have kids and other harsh time/energy drains)
- Even if I gave people all answers they wouldn't take it. Harsh reality is people like me need a front end to serve all the fake fronts people have and their psycho-unlogical problems they have as soon as they hit a bump in the road... (sounds like I'm hating NO! Please I just mean what I say... scratch the surface and people take anything and everything against you, themselves and others, like this bitchy gossip scared-shadow-people they are- and therefore from testing 100's of people literally like daily a few people, I come to the conclusion giving them the answer doesn't do it.
- People need to suffer / get to the same point as you / be in your shoes otherwise they can't take your words for it (especially over the internet).
This was meant to be fresh or straight air and as short as possible for what is always longer points... Oh yeah last point:
- TL;DR people (even the clever sometimes or those freedom fighter, mostly lightweights in the field of communication and hashing it out by using each other but not damaging internally or externally- SEEING problems and accepting but still hammering it our / cooperating).
Make me sound like the perfect partner- even for people with ego's but mostly people fall at the first hurdle or two and go back in their box / shell.

Being trusted means that others…
- Collaborate
- Are open to ideas
- Give you the benefit of the doubt
- Are helpful
- Comply
- Recommend you to others
- Are more trustworthy in return
How to adopt this mindset? Start by avoiding distrust. Do not…
- Disengage
- Assume the worst
- Hesitate before acting
- Be uncooperative
- Be unhelpful
- Tell others to avoid
- Block
Be aware of the Collaboration Barriers. Stop trust killers with regards to…
- Experiences & Assumptions: “It won’t work! I don’t trust them! What’s the point?”
- Skills & Procedures: “Where to start? Who’s responsible? How will it work? We are so different!”
- Culture & Incentives: Why have to change? No resources or time! No incentives to collaborate"
- Process Concerns: “Not enough time! We need time! Who’s the process’ owner?”
Overcome barriers…
- Ensure there is a Shared Purpose. Take the time to agree on…
- Common expectations
- Common approach
- Common process
- Roles & responsibilities
→ Put them into a Team Charter

- Establish a Trustworthy Process. The drivers are…
- Openness

OWNCAST CONSIDERATIONS:
Careful it consumes a lot of UP/DOWN DATA + HEAT TO DO OWNCAST VIDEO BROADCASTING...
Data default is ~1mb per second (up and down maybe = 2mb)
and then data is dropped / disposed of / disappears...
60min = 7.2GB / 7200mb
(both ways in total)
+ hardware involved
+ distance traveled
SOOO do try it lower resolution perhaps than standard setting...
I see audio as best footprint unless really you're showing more than just your hands on a keyboard or barely-moving screen code... a lot of own cast is just static and BIG WASTE of megabytes.
For example voice only would be say half a megabyte AND needs almost no hardware or power
(much less)
All that data + wattage etc does add up folks... make sure it's really useful if you project energy like that.

@humanetech SMALL CIRCLES OF SOCIETY FOR QUALITY
Quality human interaction doesn't have to be too deep - just listening and talking to each other seems quite enough even with light moderator around.
Agree about the socio-technical aspects and advantages of smallness too and "Small is huge" idea based on "Small is Beautiful".
I often wonder "where are the circles of speakers and listeners to go to?".
So rather than wait for catching people after festivals or after FOSSDEM23 I'm think "where is a place to huddle around regularly?" like we did around the corner shiop after school or after work
and share at any level...?
Possibly now most of it is about coding or not daring to talk outside of your class (forgive the pub) so as social or societal change this can remain constant at unchanging as a direct result of staying only within colleagues...
I can see the coding groups are strong but in the land of text or human feeling, not really doing the work of talking so often. (unless there is some secret society going on!)
So we can fall short (of each other) in relationships when not easy-going about random contact.
Also during testing times why projects can fail *instantly* is communication itself or lack of it so this allow gentle and incremental approach.
So I seem to think talking more often with 'random / mutual' folks in a circle (inside Mastodon as safer larger circle) is the way to actually help all these scenarios and situations to see from other viewpoints much sooner than people disconnecting or that it's all there is as ultimatum or just agreeing or not agreeing.
Circles can be with loose moderation and setup how they are comfortable to jump in and try.
What do you think?
I'll also be here to talk audibly about

@Gargron
Typical questions for learning what it means is:
Which country is it filed in?
What does it mean from top to bottom to have registered trademark?
(not just a link or 'quick overview' blog but the copy of template or text of contract would be ace (deleting details or just text so it's easier to post)
I'm not looking to hammer the news just most of this stuff needs reading / catches up (though I don't doubt you did it blind... though you said above "I am m new to this" but maybe that doesn't mean you did something with 0 knowledge)
Either way good to know and practise for smaller projects and those also new... I'm in for the education here and as I value Mastodon highly.

@Gargron

LISTENING CIRCLES INTEREST YOU?
If anyone wants to circle around these topics more openly I think I can managethat nd do some tests. This would helps the whole scene (coders and non-coders) catch up on all levels and actually have fun hearing other people's thoughts. The movement(s) I think desperately need practise in the speaking and listening circles and more audiable human forms of contact as there is quite enough of the text around but not much interaction you can jump into the now (I could do a test with few people evaluating or hold something loosely a few times a week to get things going). Thought on that? / Would it help you and people (we could do notes after for the gems during tlkign that can be the turbo plugged in to doing things?)

@humanetech I do things circling to keep everything going almost daily...
but yeah it will come around again... just some things like 1 awesome post can really answer it and I go back to thinking it still needs solving when it's already done somewhere!
I guess that's part of the game!

I often think that too, and with many things - I'm stunned / it's stunning. How they are actually quite clean / cleaning themselves always for optimised flight and even if their food by nature is the rotting kind still they do quite well !
If it bugs you (hehe) then yoo can catch it in a empty jar really easily by slowly moving it over fly, and then newspaper underneath....
Especially when they sit near a light source (I do this before bed sometimes if there is 1 inside, and failing that turning lights of with just a side lamp on means I know where to catch it :)

smallcircles relates to me in the way circles of small quality can do better than large mostly-broken relationships or dragnet type designs.
So wondering if that's relative to the change?
