@dansup tbh if I were making the app I would only have upload functions, no capture or editing. Making a good camera app and a good media editing app are strong challenges in and of themselves and I don't see any problem with those functions being separated out.

To put it another way, I want to have the best camera experience, the best editing experience, and the best sharing experience, and I want the workflow to be modular so I can use the media for whatever I want.

@dansup as others have said it will likely be blocked by a lot of instances. "No brands" seems pretty ingrained in fedi culture at this point. Running a premium instance with some extra features might be a good idea though.

@dansup I agree with others that manual account review is a good solution to combat unwanted accounts on an instance. Further, I don't see a problem with deleting an account if it never made any posts, after a reasonable length of time. I also think your idea in another post about letting users limit the number of posts they see from each account they follow in a given amount of time is good. Businesses will show up on fedi, leave it to instances and users to naturally defederate and block.
