I'm one of said users of the list, the goal is merely to help confirm the birdsite accounts coming from birdsite here are who they say they are (given there's already been impersonations on both Masto and Birdsite). He validates with people he already knows and adds them to the list. This isn't about a business thing, it's just about migrating the community here. IF that changes to a profit motive then so will my view, but so far that's not been the case.
