@workingclasshistory It was always called Tolpuddle until the Victorians cleaned up the name to Tolpuddle. They tried the same with nearby Shitterton but that name had already stuck.

@workingclasshistory And now we have council tax in its place. Another broken system where £million houses in London suburbs pay less than substantially cheaper flats in rural areas. I've just been told that mine will rise to £200/month for a small mid terrace ex council house with nowhere to park, and the council rented garage complete with running rainwater and mice will be £80/month, thats a huge %age of a zero hour contract on minimum wage.
