Currently thinking most of peertube, later, pixelfed , and maybe at last, one of pleroma or misskey or mastodon.

I have evil plan to rewrite some or any of those or favorably to transpile those into CGI on nginx or murky running them through something comparable to hhvm.

I have bad feeling about top reachable scale of fediverse at current multilingual and very redundant shape.

Could it make any sense should we hit the upper limit of scalability with current setup?

Additionally planning to focus much effort on pixelfed and peertube to kind of emulate google cloud backup for storing pics and videos, and later thinking of removing/minimizing local storage space for those.

I would believe, if AT is gonna be open, one could try to implement both in parallel if You got enough resources ,and do A/B benchmarks kind of. But up to You.

Big upside is, they weakened monopoly over algorithm, and they feel threat from distribution and migration between suppliers.

I also believe, distribution will allow them to separate both geographic bubbles probably between countries plus one horizontally within country. I think thats the biggest take of theirs, and thats why.one of my alter egos was pushing for hate it of live it, you know what kind of speech.

After I upload a dataset there, does my personal storage on my device have to be online for content to be available to otgers, or can I treat it as a cloud, just dump the set there and remove from my local storages?
