Well, I follow lots of people but I'm not sure that has changed things much, in terms of the things I see (first).
That's not a complaint, by the way: I like it here, but there are some people I would like to see more of when they post.

Is there a way to prioritise the things of people you want to keep up with?

Right. I just downloaded Ivory and it refused my email/password. I vaguely remember having the same issue with another 'gate' thingie; now I'm just thoroughly fed up with everything.
Thanks again but I suspect all this really is not for me. That is, I enjoy the posting & interacting here but I should probably just give up understanding anything about it really.

I probably should never have moved beyond paper books; even the latest Kindle update made me so unhappy I stopped using it.

One last desperate try: you mention 'website'. I have the mastodon app, I think...? (I mean, I downloaded something and put it on my iPhone's homescreen, so maybe that's the problem?

I do try to read the intruction manuals (so to speak) but there's always so much info when you join a place like this (and I'm also not good at social-media-ing.

Another thing I haven't been able to work out, if you don't mind another newbie question: I still haven't managed to change the default posting setting from private to public.
I have changed this X times in Settings but it doesn't take, so I still have to change it manually to public each time I post.

I'm still relatively new here and I only started politely asking for boosts AFTER people who had been here much longer wrote that asking for it was not a bad idea, because a lot of people might need reminding that boosting was an option.

I'm perfectly fine with not asking but it's not as if it is easy to find the (correct) etiquette rules to this place...
... so why not start with the assumption that people here are of good will?
