I see no "turn off boosts globally" in either toot! on iOS or in a Brave browser tab on my desktop anywhere on my home timeline, either on iOS or Brave/Ubuntu Linux desktop

So apparently the only way to add 2FA to Mastodon is to use Yet Another(tm) third-party “app”

So that third party - someone unknown to me otherwise- has my phone number *and* all the 2FA transactions I conduct using that app

Why not just send an SMS/text directly to my phone, like my banks and eleventy-dozen other places do

Why drop an app in there at all?

Did any of the "mod team" look into the context/background/track record of those reporting the posts as spam?

It's usually pretty obvious what's going on

Would it be at all possible to ask for a simple UI/UX change and get an actual different color on the Boost icon, rather than the too-subtle-by-half 60% gray to 50% gray change it is now?

Like, maybe, the Bookmark or the Favourite icons change colors?

The irony here is that when I got on in very early November 2022, I went for a week before I even considered an "app"

The "official" Mastodon app consistently received poor reviews -- and I'm not talking about the fluff at the App Store

Most of the early-adopters (who IDd the app they were using at all) were having problems with the "official" Mastodon app

I follow mastodon.social / public / local in a browser tab, along with several other instances

I have not seen a higher quantity of very XXX homo- and hetero-erotic spam on any other server, all with out CW warnings

I muted and blocked, but that only does something if somehow those posters show up in my Home feed -- which I doubt they ever will

I've reported every one and the issue seems to have improved, but only somewhat

Someone's not enforcing their own stated Server Covenants

Two thoughts, neither of which I should voice, since I'm not really heavily invested in the entire hashtag spamming issue

But:

1) Globally it seems either there's been a new outbreak of #Mastodon #Gatekeepers regarding #Hashtags

or

2) One instance (at mastodon dot art) is being trolled by persons unknown, who mastodon dot art has offended somehow

Why people are so reluctant to block, I have no idea
