@noelrap I’m learning some rust and the short feedback loop, the danger business logic and the mandatory return value check make the language nice and give some sense of fearlessness coding.

@tenderlove _ is the last value but it is redefined. So I would say 1 but I wonder if that even compile with the space or parenthese after the :

@tenderlove Thanks for the reminder. I was updating my stack the following week and jemalloc as being shipped! It works well. Ruby 3.1 and 3.2 also helped a lot.

@tenderlove @robotdeathsquad yeah the blinkers! It’s the opposite only in Japanese cars in Japan. I have that issue too.
It’s true that pedals aren’t mirrored … was this due to manual cars and most people being right handed 🧐
I feel that most of the inconveniences fade off quickly.

@searls at the very beginning it’s weird then became totally logical and easy.
I suppose the biggest trouble are for 12 hours folks (with AM/PM) to go to the 24 hours system in the first place.

@nateberkopec do you recommend to include engineers all the time then engineers remove themselves if not requires?

@nateberkopec many, many, many people doesn’t know nor understand their medium. Many doesn’t know there are http headers that have meaning.
Just last week before Golden Week, I was puzzled that frontend engineers didn’t understand a filename with an hash (eg: foo.123.js) and the a filename with a query parameters with an hash (foo.js?cache=123).

@nateberkopec I often heard issues with the immigration. Personally after a 1 year visa (because my contact extend only 3 months into the new visa), I got directly the 5 years engineering visa … then 3 years… spouse visa.
Last week I started gathering papers for the permanent residency.

@nateberkopec I recently changed a loop with 25k object straight from the database. Now it’s Rails find_each that do 1k per batch. Still need to load 25k entries for export 🥲

@nateberkopec thanks, I (re)started using it yesterday. Found an optional dev only slow gem and already 1500% improvement!
