@Gargron@mastodon.sociaBut not 1M more who know who to use this system, which includes password rejections that are inexplicable, "things you can do" that you don't know how to do, and masses of things to read, and links you can use, that are also opaque, time-consuming, never explained, etc. Like it or not, Twitter it far *easier* to use, and far, far, more user-friendly when it comes to the system itself.

@feditips Thanks for this, but as with almost all the various programs I've seen, tried, had offered, I am unable to successfully use them. I do *not* understand all the talk about the formats, etc., and have never been comfortable with anything other than straightforward english. So...thanks, but as with at least one other friend of mine here, we just live with the limitations.

@Mastodon This looks interesting--though I won't do it as the instructions for how to do it--plus the various caveats--make it completely intimidating and an invitation to disaster. Maybe someday Mastodon will make it easy for non-Nerds...but that day is not yet at hand.

@feditips I *want* to pin this page, which I understand would make it accessible directly from my profile...but one can only pin one's own toots, yes? As with so much else here, I don't truly "get it," and it is exhausting. Can you clarify at least this one specific thing, please? Thanks.

I've no idea what this relates to, how it (apparently) happened, etc. A *lot* of Mastodon is exactly like this for me...and, I suspect, for a lot of other people as well.
